Overview

The Verandah Resort was renovated in 2008, this low-rise, family-friendly beach property comprises a total of 200 rooms and was built and designed to take full advantage of the breathtaking sea views and lush surrounding tropical landscape. The exterior combines Caribbean architecture with gabled roofs and timber-clad frames. The hotel is part of a luxurious new family-oriented holiday complex and offers a fully managed, all-inclusive environment. Facilities on offer to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a café, a hairdressing salon, a bar, a pub and a disco. Also available are a restaurant, conference facilities and Internet access. Guests may take advantage of the laundry service and there are bicycles for hire. The younger guests will enjoy the children's playground.

The resort features an outdoor swimming pool with a poolside snack bar, sun loungers and parasols. Guests may also take advantage of a health spa and the hotel offers aqua aerobics, a hot tub, and massage and spa treatments. Guests can enjoy watersports such as waterskiing, jet skiing, diving, windsurfing and sailing. The on-site gym comes complete with Cybex cardio, treadmills, weight-training machines and free-weight equipment, which will help guests maintain their fitness routine. They can enjoy flat-screen TVs, fluffy towels and chilled water at the gym, and yoga and aerobics classes are also on offer. It is also possible to go mountain biking/cycling and play a game of volleyball or beach volleyball and there is a special entertainment programme on offer.

Location And Resort

The hotel is located just a 30-minute drive from the capital city of St John's, on the north-eastern point of Antigua on the sandy, secluded Honeymoon Beach in a designated National Park in the Long Bay area. The park features Devil's Bridge, a natural geological arch carved by the sea from the years of Atlantic breakers eroding the limestone ledges. The area was officially made a national park in the 1950s. The international airport is only a 30-minute drive away.

The spacious rooms all have a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub and WC. Further facilities include a hairdryer, a balcony/terrace, a TV, a radio, a telephone and a safe (certain amenities may incur a fee).
